What we collect

Depending on how you use TFYH, we may collect account and contact information, experience details and matching preferences, payment status, communications, reviews or reports, and safety-screening information. Screening may include your legal name, date of birth, residential address entered in the form, emergency contact, and one government-issued photo ID. TFYH does not ask customers to upload bank statements, utility bills, or leases.

Why we collect it

• To review requests, match customers with TFYH Friends, and coordinate experiences.
• To confirm identity, eligibility, and safety-related information.
• To process and record payments, send service messages, prevent misuse, and respond to concerns.
• To meet legal obligations and enforce TFYH policies.

How information is handled

Access is limited to people and service providers who need the information to operate, secure, or support the service. TFYH does not sell government ID or screening-document information. Payments are completed through Stripe; TFYH does not receive your full card number.

Service providers

TFYH uses service providers for website hosting, secure data and file storage, authentication, email delivery, and payment processing. Those providers process information to perform services for TFYH under their own security and privacy terms.

Retention and deletion

TFYH reviews screening records periodically and keeps them only while they are reasonably needed for an active request or account, booking administration, safety, dispute handling, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or required business records. Government ID files are not retained simply for marketing. You may request access, correction, or deletion at any time. TFYH will delete eligible information after verifying the request, but may retain limited records when legally required or necessary to resolve a safety, payment, fraud, or legal matter.

Your choices

You may unsubscribe from promotional email, update account information, or ask a privacy question by emailing TheFriendYouHave@gmail.com. Do not email identification documents; use only the secure upload inside the TFYH request process.

Security and limits

TFYH uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no website or storage system can promise absolute security. If you believe information connected to your account has been compromised, contact TFYH promptly.
